Katrina’s interest in NVC was sparked in 2004 while parenting her preschool and toddler aged children. She wanted to be able to communicate with them with compassion, even in challenging moments. Learning NVC became an empowering lens for viewing and experiencing all communication, and one she continues to be grateful for each day.
Sharing NVC with others including parents, teachers, youth workers, and at-risk students was a natural extension for the enthusiasm she has for the practice of NVC. Currently, Katrina works as a Montessori teacher and is pleased to share and apply her understanding of NVC in an educational environment that highly values peace education.
